Softwear is a work about of memory, digital disembodiment, and the unseen structures that shape experience. Inspired by Flusser’s distinction between hardware and software, the work mistranslates “software” into sagging, humorous forms pigeons sewn in leatherette, pillows, and lightboxes glowing with delicate drawings. By materializing invisible codes into soft, tactile presences, Softwear questions how value and power migrate from objects to information, and invites reflection on what intrudes upon our lives while remaining out of sight.
