Installation, 2 channel video, tv monitors, dj controller, string, metal supports and found objects.

90s Kids is a memorial to a specific cultural moment (the Chinese Y2K era) and a meditation on how we access and reconstruct the past. By mixing together Chinese pop music, Western contemporary sounds, and personal text, the work creates a third space that reflects the experience of a generation shaped by global cultural flows.

This dialogue between Eastern and Western media landscapes is highly relevant to the Ticino art scene, a context itself defined by a unique cultural and linguistic intersection.
90’s Kids contributes to this dialogue by presenting a personal, yet universally resonant, perspective on how memories are not fixed archives but are continuously mixed, remixed, and re-interpreted, well, much like a DJ set.
